Turkey is blessed with spectacular beaches, with one of the most beautiful considered to be Ölüdeniz in the Fethiye district. A protected beauty spot, the blue lagoon of Ölüdeniz is a firm favourite with visiting tourists. Vivid History

Traditional Cuisine
Local tavernas are the perfect setting to try some traditional Turkish cuisine, ranging from succulent Mezze and fresh seafood to köfte and olive oil drizzled vegetables. There’s something for all tastes and dishes change slightly depending on the region. While out and about make sure you sample pide, a boat-shaped flatbread topped with cheese, meats or vegetables, and often called ‘Turkish Pizza’. Shopping
Bazaars and markets continue to be a big part of the way of life in Turkey and wandering around one can be a great way to experience some authentic Turkish culture while bagging yourself a bargain. The Grand Bazaar in Istanbul is one of the oldest and largest shopping centres in Turkey with 3,000 stalls selling everything from carpets and leather goods to fine jewellery. Just down the hill from here, you’ll find the Spice Bazaar where you can pick up exotic spices, coffee, nuts and dried fruit to take home with you.
Nightlife
Whether you’re in a resort or one of the big cities, Turkey has a vibrant nightlife to suit all requirements. In the resorts such as Marmaris and Bodrum, you’ll find bars and clubs aplenty, many offering happy hours and traditional Turkish entertainment – belly dancing. In the bigger cities, such as Istanbul and Antalya, you’ll find a wide range of entertainment, from stylish jazz bars to huge nightclubs. In the capital, grab a beer in one of the many bars lining the banks of the Bosphorus and enjoy your drink with a view.
